About
Kynda

Master of Social Work, University of Kentucky

Licensed Clinical Social Worker; State of Illinois

I’m a wife, a mom, a grandmother, and I’ve been a social worker for thirty years. Most of my years of experience have been in mental health and private practice. I’ve also spent the last few years as a hospice social worker, work that I still love.

Over the course of my lifetime, I’ve experienced losses and stressors as most of us have. But in 2018, I had a devastating loss. Since then, I’ve come to know that my loved one is still with me, albeit in a different form. I would never have chosen this route, but I’m thankful that I have learned that there is more to life than meets the eye.

Grief isn’t something we can escape. We’re human and losing someone we love is heartbreaking. I’ve been fortunate to have found Induced After Death Communication Therapy, a form of therapy designed to reduce sadness and relieve the heaviness of grief. For those interested in the science of IADC, there’s more info here.

I’ve also been trained extensively in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). I’m a great fan of Julia Cameron’s Artist’s Way, a journaling approach to help us connect to our inner wisdom and living a more authentic life.
